Marinate chicken with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder and cornstarch. Leave it for 15 mins.
In a medium bowl, combine the remaining ingredients: flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, onion powder, garlic powder except egg. Divide into 2 parts with 2:1 ratio.
Add an egg into the smaller flour portion. Whisk well and add 30 ml water, whisk to smooth.
Coat the chicken with flour then in wet batter and again in flour. Shake before deep-frying.
Deep-fry over medium heat until the chicken is lightly golden.
Fry 2nd time until golden brown.
