Crispy Fried Bananas

This is a very common street food in Vietnam called Banh Chuoi - Fried Banana. I learn this recipe from a Vietnamese women (she sells Banh Chuoi for her whole life she said ) a long time ago, and here I am today, writing in English to show the world her recipe. Thanks to her!

Cooking Method
Servings 8
You will need
  • 200 g rice flour
  • 280 ml water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp molasses
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp black sesame seeds
  • Oil for deep-frying
Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together all the ingredients, except bananas and vegetable oil, until smooth. Let the batter rest for 10 minutes.

  2. Peel and cut each banana in halves lengthwise. Place one sliced banana in a plastic wrap and slightly flatten it up. Transfer to the batter bowl and  flatten the other half. Then now place it over the 1st slice ( they should stick together ).

  3. Dip into the batter and deep-fry until it's lightly golden.

  4. Take the banana out from oil and place in the batter bowl to coat one more time. Bring back to deep-fry until it's golden brown and puffy,

  5. Transfer to a lined paper towel plate and enjoy!!!! 💯😍
