Quick Sesame Black Pepper Beef With Broccoli

Beef + Sesame oil + sesame seeds = my new obsession recently!

It tastes so good and different from what I usually have before. I highly recommend you to try it.

For this recipe, it's so much better you slice the beef thinly and cook over high heat in very short time!

Cooking Method
Servings 3
You will need
  • 350 g flank steak, tenderloin
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tsp minced ginger
  • 1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 tsp sesame seeds (1 tsp for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3 tbsp cooking oil
Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, add beef with the remaining ingredients except cooking oil, broccoli and 1 tsp sesame seeds for garnish. Combine well then cover with a plastic wrap. Leave it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

  2. Bring a pot of water to a boil and blanch broccoli for 2 minutes. Transfer to a bowl of iced water to stop the cooking process. Let it sit for about 5 minutes then drain and set aside.

  3. Heat a frying pan over high heat, add cooking oil and wait until you see the white smoke comes out in the air. That's when you can add in the beef.

  4. Let the beef brown a little bit before stir-frying. You have to be quick at this point, don't over cook the beef it will be very chewy. You cook over high heat and stir quick that's it!

  5. Once you do not see any red blood on the beef it's when you add broccoli and remove from heat. Toss well and serve over rice with some sesame seeds on top!
