Secret Banh Mi Sauce

In my previous recipe, I showed you how to make grilled pork belly with air-fryer. And today, let's together we make the perfect grilled pork Banh Mi with the secret sauce.

My boyfriend after tried this Banh Mi, he said "it's so so good and I should open a Banh Mi shop"

Cooking Method
Servings 5
You will need
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 lemongrass (white part, minced)
  • 1 chili (minced, or less depends on how spicy you like)
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp five spice powder
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • Other ingredients to make a Banh mi: grilled pork, coriander, cucumber and pickled carrot and daikon
Instructions
  1. Heat a small sauce pan over medium heat, add 1 tbsp oil with garlic, lemongrass and chili. Stir for 1-2 mins or until fragrant. 

  2. Add the remaining ingredients and bring it to a boil. 

  3. Cook until the sauce gets thickened. Remove from heat and let it cool down. 

  4. Assemble a Banh Mi with the grilled pork ( please check my previous recipe) , coriander, carrot and daikon pickles and cucumber slices. Drizzle the sauce and enjoyyyy, omg I love this recipe 🤞
