Sesame Savory Pan-Fried Dough

Ingredients
  • 270 g all purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 1/2 tbsp cooking oil
  • The filling
  • 180 g Ground pork/chicken
  • 25 g carrots (finely chopped)
  • 25 g mushrooms (finely chopped)
  • 15 g onion (diced)
  • 45 g cabbage (diced)
  • 2 green onions (sliced)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp five spice powder
  • 1 cup raw sesame seeds
  • Others
  • 4 tbsp cooking oil (for frying)
Instructions

    In a mixing bowl, add salt, sugar and warm water. Stir to dissolve.

    Add in instant yeast, give it a stir then add in oil then flour. Stir to combine. Cover and let it rest for about 2 hours.

    In the mean time, prepare the filling by combining all the ingredients from the list. Cover and put it in the fridge for about an hour.

    Take the filling out, and form into 9 small balls.

    Add sesame seeds on a wide plate.

    When the dough is ready, divide into 9 pieces. Flatten each ball, thinner edges and thicker center. Place a filling ball at the center and fold to seal.

    Transfer to the sesame seed plate, cover the bun with seeds and press it down a bit.

    Add 4 tbsp cooking oil in a frying pan, place the patties and cook 12-15 mins each side on low medium heat until they are golden brown and crispy from the outside.

    Transfer to a plate and serve. (I eat with sriracha and mayo, so so good 😍😍)
