Spicy Pork Belly Stir Fry With Green Beans

This dish is pretty spicy and that's how I like it to be. You can add different vegetables not only green beans such as broccoli, carrot, cabbage, bell pepper ....

I am so in love with this type of pork belly stir fry especially when I pair it with a bowl a hot steamed rice! So Good 💘

Cooking Method
Servings 2
You will need
  • 300 g pork belly (skin removed, slice into cubes)
  • 150 g green beans (sliced)
  • 4 shallots
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 chili (use less if you can not eat spicy)
  • 3 green onions (sliced)
  • 1 tbsp satay sauce (store bought ^_^)
  • 1/4 tsp tsp salt
  • The sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt (if needed)
Instructions
  1. Season cubed pork belly with 1/4 tsp of salt ( I found that our Vietnamese salt is really salty so I add 1/4 tsp, if you think it's too a little, please add a bit more )  and let it sit for 15 mins.

  2. Blanch green beans in boiling water for 1 and a half minutes, drain and rinse under water to stop the cooking process. Drain and set aside.

In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients from the sauce list.

Add garlic, shallots and chili into a mortar and pound until they form a chunky paste.

  3. Heat a frying pan over medium heat, add a little bit of oil and use a paper towel to spread it all over the pan. Add pork belly and pan fry it until golden brown. (Don't burn it ok?)

Pull the pork to one side of the pan and add garlic, shallot and chili to the other side. Stir for 30 seconds then toss with the pork belly.

  4. Add in the sauce with satay and stir for 30 seconds before adding in green beans. Toss for another 30 seconds and sprinkle green onions.

  5. Remove from heat and serve over rice :)))
